Why I'm Doing This
One actor. One scene. No safety net.
I'm a writer-director building a body of work in Los Angeles. One Shot is how I practice directing on a small scale. One actor, one scene, no safety net. Every episode is a real thing I made with a real person.
I don't write stock scenes. I write for you specifically. That means I need to know you a little first — what you're drawn to, what you wish you got to play, what's true about you that never shows up in auditions. The scene comes out of that conversation.
You bring the performance. I bring everything else.
Why "One Shot"
Three reasons the name fits.
The Literal
Every scene is designed to be filmed in a single continuous take. No cutaways, no coverage, no safety net. Just one shot from start to finish. That constraint forces clarity in the writing and commitment in the performance.
The Stakes
Each collaboration is unrepeatable. This actor, this scene, this moment in time. You don't get a second run at it with a different cast. That's not a limitation, it's the point.
The Comics Meaning
In publishing, a "one shot" is a standalone issue — a new and self-contained story that doesn't depend on what came before. No continuity required. Every episode of this series works the same way: its own world, its own character, complete on its own terms.

The Process
Seven steps, start to finish.

We talk.
About 30 minutes. I ask you questions: what you're working toward, what you wish you got cast in, what's true about you that never shows up on your reel. I'm writing from this conversation, not from a stock character.

I write.
A short monologue or scene, usually one to two pages. You read it and give me notes. I revise if something doesn't fit. This is a collaboration, not a surprise.

You prepare.
Show up off book. Bring a costume idea or two. Nothing elaborate, just considered. The character should feel lived-in, not dressed up.

We shoot.
Either at my place in North Hollywood (green screen available) or a location in the Valley or greater LA. Small crew, usually just me with maybe one person on sound or focus. Fast and focused. Budget a couple hours on the day.

I document the process.
I'll capture behind-the-scenes footage during the shoot: how the scene came together, what I was going for, how we worked. This becomes a short making-of Reel for my channel. You'll be in it. You'll see it before it goes up.

I edit.
All post is on me. Color, sound, titles. I'll make it look like what it is: a real production.

We share.
You get the finished scene. Full rights, use it however you want. We both post.
Timeline
Four to five weeks, start to finish.

Week 1
Initial conversation. I ask my questions. You tell me what you want to play.

Weeks 1–2
I write the scene. You read it, give feedback. We lock it.

Weeks 2–3
Shoot day. A couple hours. You show up off book and in costume.

Weeks 3–4
I edit the finished scene and the making-of Reel. You'll see a cut before it goes up.

Weeks 4–5
Both pieces post. You get the final files.
Timeline is approximate and depends on scheduling. I move as fast as you do.
What I Ask in Return
Two things.
Show up prepared.
Off book, in costume, ready to work. I put real time into writing something for you. Bring that same energy to the shoot.
Post about it if you liked it.
